s cousin dies in the hospital, Carrie is accused of helping him die. The stress caused Carrie to turn to CEO Michael McKenna for support and they started a relationship. After a few weeks they decided to remain friends. As 1992 drew to a close, Carrie struck up a friendship with a builder who was working on the hospital, Duncan. As their relationship advanced, Carrie was delighted to learn he had two children.

1993

Carrie and Duncan grew apart and broke up with Carrie citing their age difference as a big reason. Carrie became desperate to have a child and asked for a co worker to donate sperm. Many donated including Chris Warner

 and Carrie but he fell for Carrie and they started dating. The two married in Las Vegas and returned to Ferndale a married couple. It was discovered that Carrie was carrying triplets and the increasingly shady Declan bought the bar across the road from the hospital to create an income for the family. Carrie was disappointed when good friend Meredith decided to leave but at the leaving party, Carries water broke. Steve helped his step mother give birth to triplets. They were named Finbar, Frank and Sarah. Sarah developed health problems and Carrie became very distressed. Steve helped her through it while Declan worked at the bar. Declan's dodgy past came back to haunt him however when he started getting threats about a bank robbery he did. He was sent to jail leaving Carrie with no one to turn to but Steve. Steve developed romantic feelings towards Carrie but she did not return them at first. Carrie started to get threats from one of Declan's associates and she decided to leave Ferndale to live with her sister in Australia. At Gina
