Every February, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
, hosts this historical event, attracting around a many thousand people from everywhere. Some of most famous events in this carnival are the Queen Gala and more important the Draq Queen Gala, this one has so many participants from around the country that requires a previous selection.
There are many celebrations and parades during the week at which carnival takes place. The main parade, or "Cabalgata", has an attendance of 200.000 people every year through its six kilometers across the city.
