Graduates of the 4-year undergraduate program receive an honours Bachelor of Journalism (B.J.) degree. The school also offers a Master of Journalism program (M.J.).
The school has a distinct institutional status within the university, along with the Arthur Kroeger College of Public Affairs
, which offers the Bachelor of Public Affairs and Policy Management (BPAPM), and the College of the Humanities, which offers the Bachelor of Humanities (B.Hum.). Each of these units have higher admission requirements than their faculty norms, and distinct, well-respected degree programs.
