History

The tower was originally proposed as a 701 foot (213 m) tower containing 56 floors. These floors would contain 280 condominiums, 200 hotel rooms, and 50,000 square feet (4,650 square meter) of office space. However, this version was superseded by a taller 965 foot (294 m) proposal. This current version contains 70 floors with the roof of the building at 771 feet (235 m) high. A 194 foot (59 m) spire on the roof pushes the building height to 965 feet (294 m). If built, the Capitol Grand Tower could be tallest building in Sacramento by a wide margin.
