The Institute was founded in 2003 with an aim to develop a “Center for Excellence”, by eminent educationalists, social workers and most importantly the Government of West Bengal.

Campus Life

The partially government-aided Institute, with 5.08 acres (20,558 m²) of land, has spacious lecture rooms, state-of-the-art workshops and seminar rooms, well-equipped laboratory rooms, 450+ computer terminals and a central academic library, which has an institutional membership of IEL-IET and AICTE-INDEST, along with other amenities as per the AICTE guidelines. It is a non-residential institution with student-friendly facilities that include a small medical unit, cafeteria, common-room and one play ground.

The Students' Committee is in place to organise all the activities and guard the interest of the students. Celsius is the annual inter-college cultural-technical fest of CIEM.
