The Cal StateBakersfield Roadrunners (also known as CSUB Roadrunners or CSU Bakerfield Roadrunners) are the intercollegiate athletic teams of Cal State Bakersfield

. The university is currently a NCAA Division I school, after previously competing at the Division II level. The Roadrunners began the transition process in 2006 and became a full Division I member starting in the in July 2010. CSUB is looking to join the Big West Conference

planning a move to Division I in all sports except football, CSUB and UCSD hoped to have a chance to enter the conference simultaneously although the conference has shown no interest in expanding anytime soon.
