and the City of Brno. It is an establishment of modern laboratories with state-of-art instrumentation and technologies that will ensure suitable conditions for conducting both basic and applied research.

Research

The centre will conduct excellent research as well as provide advanced postgraduate and postdoctoral education in the following fields: nanotechnologies and microtechnologies, structural biology

, genomics and proteomics going into advanced materials and medicine. The high-tech technologies installed will enable synergic study in the subjects of life and material sciences on all currently available levels of complexity, starting with individual atoms, through molecules, molecule groups and cells to whole organisms.

Project Strategy

The uniqueness of the project is based on inter-connection and targeted cooperation of the best research teams of partner institutions. This cooperation is further supported
by the best infrastructure, international mobility and a system of management stemming from the experience of the best world research institutes. Within the project,
modern instruments and equipment, including the construction of structures to house the ten core facilities (central laboratories), will be conceptually added to the existing
infrastructure of the partner institutions. The joint use of the state-of-the-art infrastructure will enable, in addition to narrowly specialized research, intensive cooperation among fields and a higher-quality environment for students and young scientists.

Laboratories

Among main features of integration will be the core facilities (central laboratories),which will be from the reason of maximizing synergies concentrated in two sites,
the University campus and Pod Palackého vrchem campus. Laboratories in the Bohunice campus will focus on life sciences and biomedicine and may benefit from being near to the Faculty Hospital in Brno and the Biotech Incubator INBIT.
