Burn Hall School was founded in 1956 and celebrated its Golden Jubilee in 2006. The Education Society of Jammu- Srinagar Diocese as a registered charitable society directs the school and the school has permanent recognition from J&K State Board of School Education as well as the J&K Government Education Department. The higher secondary division was opened during its Golden Jubilee celebration in 2006. The campus is monitored 24/7 by CCTV cameras and was the first in India to aqcuire it.

Under the management of Jammu Srinagar Diocese the higher secondary block was introduced in the school in 2006, in a new building constructed as an addition to the main building. Science and commerce are taught.

Fr. Jeykumar, the principal, is also the Chairman of Jammu - Srinagar Diocesan Education Board. He has updated the higher Secondary school block by installing cameras, projectors, touch sensitive boards and high speed internet access.

The school has four houses, named after four great scholars of English literature:

  • Wordsworth House: blue

The school has started online education, the first of its kind in the Kashmir valley.

Sports

Burn Hall School's football, basketball and cricket teams are famous teams in Jammu and Kashmir. The teams have played in the premier Subrato tournaments. Other sports available are badminton and lawn tennis. The school organizes hill races, cross country run and camps.
