. The village is about 7 miles west of Horncastle. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 309.

It is claimed that Lady Godiva

The village has a 17th century Grade II listed rectory, a small primary school, a nursing home, several post boxes, village hall, small park and many public footpaths.
