The Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen ([BRS) is a labor union
in the United States
and Canada
. It represents workers who install and maintain signal systems on rail transport
networks. Founded in 1901, it has a membership of approximately 9,500, including most of the signal employees on both the freight railroads and the passenger and commuter railroads.
The BRS is affiliated with the AFL–CIO (and is part of its Transportation Trades Department) and the Canadian Labour Congress
. Its national headquarters is located in Front Royal, Virginia
