Before embarking on a career in rugby Henderson represented Canada U21 at soccer and played junior professional ice hockey.

Club career

Henderson started his rugby career playing for his local team in Chilliwack before moving to senior rugby in Abbotsford in the Fraser Valley within just a few months of him starting the game. From there he was called up to the Canada Sevens squad, playing in the Rugby Sevens World Cup in Hong Kong and left Abbotsford for Bay of Plenty in New Zealand.

At the start of the 06/07 season he was spotted by English side Pertemps Bees and made his debut as a substitute versus Sedgley Park

. Henderson left Pertemps Bees before the end of the season for personal reasons and did not return to England for the 07-08 season.

Henderson did not play professionally during the 07-08 and 08-09 seasons, however in December 2009 he returned to the Canadian Sevens side, playing for a Maple Leaf Development 7 in January 2010 at the Punta Del Estes 7's in Uruguay. This was the first time Henderson had represented Canada internationally since 2007. In February 2010 he competed for Canada in the USA Sevens

Henderson currently has 3 full caps for Canada and has scored 2 tries, including one on his debut versus Japan

 Sevens world circuit with the Canadian national team for several seasons at the start of his career and has recently returned to the national sevens setup after a two year absence. Before turning to rugby as a career Henderson played international soccer for Canada's U23 team & Junior Hockey.
