Established in 1882 and owned by the fifth generation of the founding family Brillantmont is in the centre of Lausanne
, just a five minute walk from all the shops and amenities of the city. The school grounds are spacious and leafy and have a marvellous view over Lake Léman and the Swiss Alps

Brillantmont is home to around 100 boarding boys and girls and about 50 day students from aged 11 onwards (from UK Year 7 / US Grade 6). Students study in the British Programme to prepare IGCSE and A Level examinations http://www.cie.uk/org

With small class sizes (average of 12) the students get close teacher attention and support. All teaching is in English but every student must learn French, the host language. The school is fully accredited by the Council of International Schools

Brillantmont students are kept very busy both in and out of the classroom. Each weekend different excursions are organised to enable students to discover Switzerland
and its neighbouring countries. From January to April, skiing is a major fixture of the excursion calendar with the opportunity to ski in numerous famous resorts. After class, extra-curricular activities of all kinds take place on campus - Model United Nations
, Finance Society, Yoga, School Band, Vocal Group, Photography and many more. The school is also committed to humnitarian work and each year students fundraise for http://www.globalharmony.org and participate in a building project run by Habitat for Humanity. Brillantmont students are well-rounded individuals who have a range of interests and hobbies that we encourage them to nurture.

Boarders live on campus, in houses according to their age and gender. Resident teachers look after the students and try to make them feel at home. Given the small size of the school, there is a very family-like atmosphere across the campus, enhanced by the school's "house" system, which facilitates contact and friendship between all members of the school community.
The Heads of the Boarding School live on campus and ensure its smooth running and the successful integration of all in their care. An on campus health service is available 24h/ 24h.

Day students constitute a third of the student body and come from across the whole Lake Geneva region. A school bus service collects them at the station in the morning and they can stay at school for lunch. They are encouraged to join all school activities and to take advantage of all the opportunities to discover Switzerland
