On September 11th 2010 Brian Magee defended his European Title against Armenia's Roman Aramian with the Armenian not starting the 9th Round. Magee challenged IBF Super-Middleweight champion Lucian Bute
in Canada on March 19 2011.
He lost the fight to Lucian Bute
by TKO in the tenth round.
On July 30th, Magee captured the interim WBA super-middleweight title with a unanimous points win over Jaime Barboza in San Jose, Costa Rica. The vacant WBA super-middleweight title is due to be decided on August 26th 2011 and subject to a successful voluntary defence of his interim title in November, Magee is poised to face the winner in a reunification bout.
