The song debuted No.1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Dance Club Play. The song was considered somewhat successful, reaching the top ten in Italy and Brazil, the top twenty in the United Kingdom, Australia, Ireland, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Norway and the top 40 in the United States.

"Hold It, Don't Drop It" was released as the second and final single from the album on January 21, 2008. The single was never released in the United States, making "Do It Well," the only US single. The video premiered December 4, 2007.
