 grew up in Bovina. There are also some other very special citizens in the little town of Bovina. Earl Whitten has worked for Sherley-Anderson for over 40 years. Sherley-Anderson was a huge grain company in the Parmer County area. They sold all the Elevators in 2001. Elevators of Sherley-Anderson included: Bovina, Farwell, Lazbuddie, Rhea,and Lariat. The elevators are now owned by AGP. Sherley-Anderson is still a company, just not a grain company. Earl and his secretary, Nancy Dunn, now just work for the Sherley-Anderson Company.

In the city the population was spread out with 37.6% under the age of 18, 9.5% from 18 to 24, 27.9% from 25 to 44, 16.2% from 45 to 64, and 8.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 28 years. For every 100 females there were 101.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.5 males.
