The Bosan are a Jat clan found in the Punjab
province of Pakistan
. They are said to have come from Hyderabad
in Sindh
at the invitation of the Sufi Bahawal Haq some eight centuries ago. The saint is said to have allocated lands in what has now become the town of Bosan
in Multan District
. According their traditions, they have a common origin with the Sangi
tribe, while they are closely allied to the Waince
tribe, whom they intermarry.
The Bosan are found mainly in villages near the town of Bosan, and have customs similar to neighboring Seraiki
tribes.
