. The mountain peak is 1,460 m above sea level. Bolna is also the name of a railway station on the Nordlandsbanen
south of this mountain, situated in the upper part of Dunderlandsdal
valley at 548.6 m above sea level, and only a few km south of the Arctic Circle
. The station was opened in 1947, with proper station from 1950.
Bolna station is situated at an elevation only slightly lower than the Saltfjellet plateau, which is just north of Bolna. DNT
has a mountain lodge named Bolnastua only 200 m from the railway station. The cabin was completed in 1993 and has 13 beds.

forest near the treeline.
