It was first mentioned in 1564. During Ottoman
rule (16th-17th century) the village of Beška was populated by Serbs
. During Habsburg
rule, ethnic Germans
settled here as well. As a consequence of World War II
events in Yugoslavia
, German population fled from the village after this war, while new inhabitants mostly originating from Croatia
settled in the village instead of the Germans.
