On Thursday September 1st 2011, Bexleyheath School officially became Bexleyheath Academy. The move to Academy is set to bring new facilities such as a techno gym, recording studio, media suites and other state-of-the-art facilities to the school.

History

The school was formed as a result of the merger of two schools - an all-girls secondary modern school

 on the current site, and a boys school which was located on Graham Road. The current site has been in use since before World War II

 and is set in a residential area.

The former head, Mr Malcolm Noble, retired after 14 years in the 2007 summer term.

Site

The school is located near to Bexleyheath and therefore benefits from access to several bus routes. The school field is of a large size, while landscaping and new car parking capacity created by the renovation project are fenced off. All the facilities of the school are open to community use out of school hours.

Uniform

The schools uniform is navy blue blazer, mid grey trousers or skirt,white shirt, grey jumper and tie with apporopriate year colour stripe.
