Geography

Bewar is located at 25.75°N 79.93°E. It has an average elevation of 127 metres (416 feet). It is surrounded by Lower Ganga Canal from three sides and by the river Kaali from one side.

Historical View & General Description

It is believed to be established by Vidur of the Mahabharata.
This small town has contributed greatly during fight for independence of India. The name Bewar originated during the Mutiny of 1857, the English placed warning banners on all the entrances of the town saying "BEWARE". Gradually, with time, the letter "E" was omitted and the town got renowned by the name "BEWAR". It has been home of many freedom fighters, who sacrificed their life for freedom. Every year, an exhibition(Shaheed Mela)
takes place in the remembrance of freedom fighters. The exhibition was founded by Jagdish Narayan Tripathi who contributed greatly in the development of this town.
Currently,
Bewar is the heart of education system of the area . AMAR SHAHID INTER COLLEGE is the most reputed education institutions of the town.
Ramesh Gupta (Senior Inspector in Border Security Force),a resident of Bewar, won the President's Police Medal for Meritorious service in 2009 .He is considered by the residents as one of the hero of this town.Mr. vijay singh bais is a social worker and contributed a lot for the development of bewar.
The main residential areas of Bewar are Mo.Purana Bazaar, Mohalla Kot, Kaji Tola, Teachers Colony, Sadar Bazaar, Purang Colony, Nehru Hall, Mohalla Bhramnaan, Markichiya etc.
Bewar is comparatively clean and less polluted town of the locality.
