After achieving LVL 1 in the job, characters are able to equip the traditional Berserker ability Berserk, allowing increased physical attack, but denying the ability to use any other ability than Attack. At LVL 2 they gain the ability to allow other classes to equip axes. Berserkers do have MP, and a means of using them: Runic weapons use them For Massive Damage.

The Berserker Class did not appear in the series again until Final Fantasy X-2

The dressphere allowed the player to gain abilities such as Cripple and Mad Rush, taking full advantage of the Berserkers immense strength. As well as these, the berserk command was again available to allow more damage for less control.
