as a Grade II listed building. Figueirdo and Treuherz describe it as "an extravaganza in the Cheshire half-timbered style like a bad dream of Little Moreton Hall
". During the 20th century the building was converted into use as a school. Later it was reveloped as a restaurant, and in 1998 an accommodation block was added, making it into a hotel.
