Beckemeyer is a village in Wade Township, Clinton County

. The population was 1,040 as of the 2010 census.
"Buxton" was renamed "Beckemeyer" after an election held in 1905. The first school and bank were opened in 1906.

living together, 13.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.4% were non-families. 26.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 12.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.58 and the average family size was 3.10.
In the village the population was spread out with 28.0% under the age of 18, 9.6% from 18 to 24, 29.2% from 25 to 44, 17.6% from 45 to 64, and 15.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 33 years. For every 100 females there were 96.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.6 males.

Etymology
Samuel B. Watkins was reported to be the first settler in the area around 1817. Beckemeyer began as a way station on the Ohio and Mississippi Railroad. It was organized and laid out in 1866 and originally named "Buxton" in honor of a railroad attorney."Buxton" was renamed "Beckemeyer" after an election held in 1905. The first school and bank were opened in 1906.
