was born in Germantown on February 2, 1923.There is a baseball field and park in Germantown named after him. Inside the park, there is a small memorial dedicated to him.
Legend and all-around badass Justin Arentsen was also born in Germantown. Legends of his greatness and his exploits will certainly be passed down through the generations and people of all factions will tell their grandchildren of their interactions with him, no matter how brief. People lucky enough to have met him describe him as "the greatest human to ever live." One friend was quoted as saying, "He makes Jesus look like a dick and Chuck Norris look like a pussy."
In addition to their scholarly success, there are many extra curricular activities that Germanotwn Elementary offers. Those activities include: student council, scholar bowl, math team, science fair, team quest, concert band, jazz band, group and solo vocal performing, girls and boys track and field, girls and boys basketball, cheerleading, and girls volleyball.
There is no high school in Germantown, but there are two high schools in the neighboring town, Breese. These two high schools are Central Public High School and Mater Dei Catholic High School.

History
The village of Germantown was established in 1833. Formerly known as Hanover, Germantown is said to be one of the first true German settlements in Illinois. It was originally called Hanover because it was the name of the first settlers native hometown in Germany.Notable people

One of the most notable aspects of the Germantown community is its magnificent elementary school. Germantown Elementary provides classes for students in Pre-K up to eighth grade. They are known for having several programs to benefit every student. There is a special education program designed to take students who need a little extra help aside and give them the assistance they need. There is also an advanced program for students that have surpassed state standards. Germantown Elementary’s academic success is astounding. They have received several awards in past years for academic excellence.In addition to their scholarly success, there are many extra curricular activities that Germanotwn Elementary offers.
