The song was written by the band's founder, Patrick Marina Nebel. It was released as a single from Nacht und Nebel's second album, also titled Beats of Love. It premiered initially in Belgium in 1983, and subsequently made a release in the rest of European countries in 1984. The single had two B-sides, depending on territory, "Everything Is White" and "Walk On".
