, it is 1.6 miles (2.6 km) south of the village of Auke Bay, Alaska
, and 9.9 miles (15.9 km) northwest of the city of Juneau. The name was reported in a 1957 publication by R. N. DeArmond
. It was collected by the United States Geological Survey
between 1976 and 1981, and entered into the Geographic Names Information System
on March 31, 1981.
