It was announced in 2010 that Barry College are merging with Coleg Glan Hafren

and Vale college. The reason for this is that the Welsh Assembly encouraged colleges to collaborate with each other to benefit students.

During September, 2011, Barry College merged with Coleg Glan Hafren. The college is now known as Cardiff and Vale College (or Coleg Caerdydd a’r Fro) and is one of the largest and exciting colleges in Wales.
