. It was incorporated in 1980.
The town was constructed on the runways of the former Casper airport.

living together, 7.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 20.0% were non-families. 13.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 1.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.97 and the average family size was 3.26.
In the town the population was spread out with 33.0% under the age of 18, 9.5% from 18 to 24, 31.8% from 25 to 44, 21.7% from 45 to 64, and 4.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 32 years. For every 100 females there were 103.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 103.6 males.

In 2006, Bar Nunn led the state of Wyoming in population growth. Between 2005 and 2006, the community saw an estimated 18.6 percent increase in population –- up to 1,527 in 2006.
