During the 2006 season, the senior boys team became the first Banting Cross Country team to claim the GBSSA title in the schools 55 year history. There is a tradition where legendary runners get the opportunity to sign a pair of vintage maroon running shorts to cement their place in Banting cross country history. Only a select few runners have ever had this special honour.In 2008 they had their best season finishing 7th at Ofsaa
