Bakcell — is a cellular communication operator of GSM standard in Azerbaijan. It is the first and largest cellular operator in the country.

About Company

Bakcell was established in 1994 and became the first company to provide mobile communications services in the country. With well-targeted investments to provide customers with the best network experience, Bakcell now covers more than 95% of the population and 82% of the land area of the country. The entire network has been upgraded to EDGE technology to provide high speed internet. Today, over 2,000 base stations are in operation covering the hard-to-reach regions and providing flawless connection quality. Thanks to the measures taken, the number of Bakcell active subscribers now exceeds 2.5 million and continues to grow rapidly.

In 2009 Bakcell was named “Telecommunication Company of the Year” by the Caspian Integration Business Club. In March 2010 Bakcell was awarded the UGUR National Prize as the “Fastest Growing Company” of Azerbaijan. Cin is the simplest tariff plan of the company. The customers can easily control their spending, and top up their account with scratch cards. With Cin tariff subscribers can make and receive calls and messages, use high-speed Internet, roaming and other services offered by the company.

Klass and Gold

Coverage Area

Bakcell provides 82% of Azerbaijan area with high-quality mobile communication services. All Bakcell network has been upgraded to EDGE technology in order to allow customers to use high-speed Internet. In future the company plans to keep investing in the network, further expand coverage area, improve customer service and introduce up-to-date solutions in telecommunications sphere.

Bakcell customers can use roaming service in Europe, Asia, North and South America, Australia and Africa. Bakcell has Voice and SMS roaming agreements with 256 operators in 153 countries globally.
