Bakcell — is a cellular communication operator of GSM standard in Azerbaijan. It is the first and largest cellular operator in the country.
In 2009 Bakcell was named “Telecommunication Company of the Year” by the Caspian Integration Business Club. In March 2010 Bakcell was awarded the UGUR National Prize as the “Fastest Growing Company” of Azerbaijan. In 2010 Bakcell received the nominations of “Technology Leader of the Year” and “CSR Leader of the Year” by the Azeri Business Award. Bakcell is committed to expand its service portfolio and bring new offers based on subscriber needs in 2011. Bakcell was established in 1994 and became the first company to provide mobile communications services in the country. Bakcell provides 82% of Azerbaijan area with high-quality mobile communication services. All Bakcell network has been upgraded to EDGE technology in order to allow customers to use high-speed Internet.
