The bidding to acquire the assets started in February 2010 and over 20 companies contacted Commerzbank according to an article in Television Business International in early 2010. The interested parties included TV companies and potential financial investors from Europe, Asia and North America. The Commerzbank declined to estimate how much could be raised from the sale, but the process was expected to generate double-digit millions of Euros. In 2009 BKN International AG’s portfolio was valued by the independent consulting firm “Rinke Media Consult GmbH” at EUR 62.5 million.
