In order to purchase a ".org.au" website, the society was incorporated as an association in the Australian Capital Territory. Following the changes to ".org.au" requirements, the society allowed its incorporation to be revoked in 2007, however it continues to provide information about libertarianism and libertarian activities in Australia.
In the past the ALS published discussion papers and a newsletter. According to the society's website, it has also organised counter-protests and received national media coverage.

The ALS maintains the blog Thoughts on Freedom. Writers for the ALS have also been published in a range of magazines, newspapers and journals, including the IPA Review, Policy and the e-journal Online Opinion.In the past the ALS published discussion papers and a newsletter.
