. As an outcome of the Church’s struggle with National Socialism it was founded in 1947 upon decision by the Provincial Synod [Landessynode] of the Evangelical-Lutheran Church in Bavaria.
The Divinity School is independent of the state. It has close ties with the church’s social and welfare work and with its missionary work. In 1990, the Divinity School was conferred the right to award doctoral degrees
and in the near future a master’s program
will be established.
