The district serves students in Preschool through twelfth grade. Students come from diverse ethnic, academic and economic backgrounds. There are over 2,600 language minority students who speak 34 languages. The student population is 45.1% African Americans; 33.9% Hispanics; 10.1% Caucasians; 10.5% Asian/Pacific Islanders; and .4% American Indian/Alaskans. 81.5% of the students are identified as below poverty level based on the Consolidated Formula Sub-grant Application.
