. Tracks 1 to 4 were first issued on the double album The Prime Element (Blue Note Records), while tracks 5 to 7 were previously unreleased. While the bulk of the music is hard-bop jazz, Jan Hammer
's electric piano brings in a distinct jazz fusion
flavour, and the congas and percussions add an element of Latin
and World jazz.
