. The service consisted of 48 channels including 5 locally produced exclusive channels that were launched under the Astro brand. At the end of 2007, the number of clients reached 145,000, but its broadcasting was paused for three days during inspection on April 11, 2008 with Department of Communication and Information Technology that it didn't have other administration requirements.

In mid-2008, there was a commercial dispute between Astro All Asia Networks and Lippo Group, where the proposed joint venture by the latter was inconclusive and PT Direct Vision (PT DV) didn't pay for the support and services that Astro provided after over two years. As a result, their license for using the name "Astro" would initially expire on August 30, 2008. At PT DV's request, the deadline was extended twice to September 30, 2008 and finally October 19, 2008. Following that, Astro All Asia Networks Plc is asking for a compensation of about Rp2.5 trillion (US$250 million) from the said company. This situation is said to benefit Aora TV

, which may become the next service that completely replaces Astro Nusantara. The dispute also cause Astro Nusantara to lose its monopoly to broadcast the Barclays Premier League, which was since taken by Aora TV.

On 21 October 2008, Astro ceased support toward PT Direct Vision, consequently suspending Astro Nusantara's operations indefinitely.
