In season three the cold openings featuring Dr. Weird and Steve are replaced with clips from the failed Aqua Teen Hunger Force spin-off pilot, Spacecataz

. This is currently the last season to feature cold openings. The Mooninites are in two episodes but do not mention their conflict to the Aqua Teens, and it is unknown when the "Spacecataz" fight between the Mooninites and the Plutonians occurred. MC Pee Pants also returns in this season.

DVD release

All thirteen episodes from season three were released on the Volume Four DVD

 on December 6, 2005. The first disc features a gag where selecting 'Play All' on the menu screen literally causes all of the episodes on the two DVDs to play on the screen simultaneously. "Unremarkable Voyage" and "Mooninites 3: Remooned" are in the wrong order when shown in the 'Play All' video. The second disc features a 'Play None' option. Selecting this option causes the screen to go black for an indefinite amount of time.
