. As a child, he was often ill, as a consequence spending his time in bed constantly drawing. As a result of the Bolshevik Revolution in 1917, the Uniechowski family lost its properties and the family was forced to move to Warsaw.

In 1924-1930 he studied at the School of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He focused on posters, film and theatre scenography and most of all the book illustrations. He made light ink illustrations enriched with watercolors or gouache
