The channel has been berated for its allegiance to the political objectives of its owner, Dan Voiculescu, although spokespeople for the channel have often denied such allegations.
Antena 1 promotes itself under the slogan Together we are Antena 1, after dropping the long-running Always Close slogan which helped relaunch it in 1998. In May 2005, Antena 1 has acquired a specialty brother, the channel Antena 3
