Andy Gardiner has been selected five times by the Orlando Magazine's 50 Most Powerful People (2010, 2008, 2007, 2006, and 2005) and named Orlando Business Journal’s Forty Under Forty Outstanding Male of the Year in 2005.

Senator Gardiner served as the Chairman of the Senate Transportation Committee from 2008 to 2010 along with serving as a member on the Policy and Steering Committee on Commerce and Industry, Community Affairs, Health Regulation, Ethics and Elections, Transportation and Economic Development Appropriations, Rules, and the Joint Legislative Auditing Committee. Currently, Senator Gardiner serves on the Budget Subcommittee on Finance and Tax, Health Regulation, Reapportionment, and Rules Committees in addition to his role as Majority Leader.
