Writer/director Andrew Overtoom is an Animation

. He also wrote, directed and filmed My Life with Morrissey, an independent feature film shot on 16mm about an obsessed fan who meets her demise after meeting her rock star idol.
Andrew Overtoom was born and raised in New Jersey where he showed a talent for filmmaking from a very young age. He developed a fascination with cameras and photography and by the age of twelve he had built a darkroom
to develop the photos he captured of the things around him.
Needing to express himself further he also taught himself to play the guitar and write music. He began writing songs for his raucous rock band Woodpecker in the early 1990s. He also directed music videos for the band. The band gained popularity in the East Coast indie scene and the music videos were aired on MTV.
In 1996 he moved to Canada
to attend the Vancouver Film School
’s Classical Animation program. There he wrote and classically animated a three minute film entitled "No Parachute", a short film about the history of flight.
After graduation Overtoom attended Pasadena
’s yearly Animation Celebration. Producer Mike Girard saw Andrew’s reel and hired him onto Nickelodeon
's TV series The Angry Beavers
as an Animation Timer. In 1999 Andrew was hired onto another Nickelodeon TV series SpongeBob SquarePants as an Animation Director.

Overtoom also worked as an Animation Director on The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie. Other credits include the episodes of Fox's Family Guy and Nickelodeon's The Mighty B!. My Life with Morrissey was Overtoom's second screenplay, his first script is a comedy entitled Marvin Schlomo's Hollywood Neighborhood.

Andrew Overtoom's latest project is a 3D animated television pilot that he wrote, directed and produced. He also had his second Photography Show at Nickelodeon Studios featuring black-and-white prints of 35mm, 120mm and 5x7 negatives from today and from his youth.
