, where he was promoted to Captain. At Yale, while playing for the Yale baseball team, he hit what was considered at that time the longest home run. He attended UC Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco after the war and joined his father's law firm in 1947. He was San Francisco chairman of Citizens for Eisenhower in 1952, during Dwight Eisenhower's first run for president. In 1962 he was the Northern California chairman of Richard Nixon
