Amnon Kapeliouk was a Jewish French

said, "Kapeliouk belonged to a group of reporters from the occupied territories who did an excellent job after the occupation. It was a glorious time for Israeli journalism, covering what was going on in the occupied territories in a way that was unparalleled. When they [this type of reporter] disappeared, the reporting on the occupied territories was transformed into government communiques."
During the first Lebanon War, Kapeliouk interviewed Arafat in Beirut for Al HaMishmar. When Al HaMishmar refused to publish the interview, he moved to Yedioth Aharonoth.

Camp David 2000: “This was the most important meeting between the Israelis and Palestinians since the 1993 Oslo accords. The crucial questions of refugees and Jerusalem, as well as settlements and land, were to be debated. But the meeting was always doomed to failure due to lack of serious preparation.”
“Speaking in his Ramallah office the day after he got back from the 11–25 July 2000 summit, Yasser Arafat was adamant. He thought he had convinced the United States secretary of state of the need to take more time preparing the groundwork. But [U.S. Ambassador Madeline] Albright allowed herself to be persuaded by the Israeli Prime Minister, Ehud Barak, and advised Clinton to get the parties together quickly.” (Le Monde Diplomatique, September 2000))
“The immigration of Jews to the “promised land” has always been the cornerstone of Zionism. Now the ultra-orthodox religious parties that are helping keep Benyamin Netanyahu in power are demanding sole control over conversions to Judaism. But two-thirds of the Diaspora are not orthodox. And in the powerful Jewish community of the United States, the figure rises to 90%. This makes life difficult for Mr Netanyahu. It also raises the question of the changing nature of immigration into Israel, and of its diverse origins and separate communities.”
Kapeliouk died on 26 June 2009 at the age of 78.
