History

ASU opened in the fall of 2006. Dr. Donald Singer is the President of the university and Dr. Harry Hwang is the Founder and Chairman of the Board. Several buildings that comprise the current ASU campus were formerly owned by the San Bernardino Sun. The buildings have undergone extensive remodeling to accommodate classrooms. The campus spans two blocks and includes instructional classrooms, a dormitory, the ASU gym, and the future nursing school building set to open in 2011-2012.
The historic Fox Theatre of San Bernardino is also a part of ASU's campus. The architectural details of the original structure have been restored.

The university has filed applications to turn part of downtown Fourth St. into a campus walkway and start up a sports-oriented charter high school in the city.

As of December 2010, American Sports University has become an official ACE

 Certification Preparation and Test Site. Students are able to obtain training to pass the ACE Personal Training Certification Test and take the exam on campus. American Sports University is the only ACE Certification partner serving the entire Inland Empire

American Sports University contains popular locations that are used for public venues including the ASU Fox Theater and the ASU Gymnasium. Both building host many events including sporting events, ceremonies, and party events.

WBC Legends of Boxing Museum

The Administration Building is home to the WBC Legends of Boxing Museum. The WBC Legends of Boxing Museum is the only museum sanctioned and dedicated to fighters of the WBC.
