on nationalisation in 1948.
Alnmouth has served as the principal station for the town of Alnwick
since the closure of the Alnwick branch line in January 1968, with the name changing to Alnmouth for Alnwick on 23 May 2003. It will also serve as the eastern terminus of the Aln Valley Railway moving forward.
