Biography

Born in the Ansari family of Srinagar which wields considerable religious and political influence over a vast section of population of the Valley, late Maulana was best known for his oratory skills and his appeal transcended sectarian lines, and followers of various schools of thought came to him with their questions, doubts, and advice. This across-the-board acceptability made him a potent instrument of peace in highly volatile times. Accessible to everyone at all times, he was time and again called to defuse explosive situations in many parts of Kashmir to douse the flames of discord created by misunderstandings.
