, he discovered he had a talent for football, and was soon playing in midfield for Sunday league team Dulmore Albion, based in Brockley Rise. It was there he was seen by Millwall scout Jamie Martin, who signed him up for a scholarship aged 16.

"It felt very different coming to a professional club, after just playing Sunday football," said Fuseini. He soon signed YTS forms,to his mum's relief. It needed to be all about me focussing on my game - and that is what I did."

Fuseini tore a medial knee ligament in his first season as an U18, and missed almost two months of football. But when Joe Little was made head of the Millwall youth academy in August, he put him back in the position he loves best. And soon the move paid dividends.

A senior appearance for Millwall in the pre-season friendly at Crawley on August 15 followed, with Fuseini earning praise from then-boss Nigel Spackman

I thought I did okay and I was really pleased with myself." Under Spackman, and under caretaker Willie Donachie
