Alcaidesa is only partially developed in accordance with its development plan. The Dragonfly Bar extended into the old retail unit and therefore more seating is available inside, but a small retail unit selling all essentials opened in March 2011. A further mall has been constructed, but units remain vacant (as at April 2011).

Currently there is only one restaurant/bar in the village, though there is a bar and restaurant on the beach in the Summer months. The permanent restaurant is located in the main square and offer seating both indoor and outdoor. The Dragonfly bar serves English and Spanish food and drinks as it has been refurbished. The beach bar has seating outside and is open throughout the day and evening and serves a mixture of meat and fish dishes.

A fire station exclusively serving the village was built in 2008.
