Alapars is a village in the Kotayk Province of Armenia
. Its center is dominated by the churches of S. Astvatsatsin built in 1897 and Vardan Church (Vardanavank in Armenian) built in 901. According to local legend Vardanavank contains a drop of blood from the Armenian national hero Vartan Mamikonian.
