Due to constant argues and creative divergences Renato Russo and Fê Lemos had, the band was disestablished in 1982. Aborto Elétrico's repertoire would be later on shared between Legião Urbana

After Aborto Elétrico's disestablishment, its members formed another bands: Renato Russo and Ico Ouro Preto became members of Legião Urbana

Aborto Elétrico never released any official album, but in 2005, Capital Inicial released the album MTV Especial: Aborto Elétrico, containing nine previously unreleased songs by Aborto Elétrico, and other nine songs already recorded by Capital Inicial or Legião Urbana.
